VOP Mini Mural Project First Round Selectee

"Tamarindo," by Mark Nelson, is one of four first round murals jury commissioned by the Oak Park Area Arts Council. Nelson's image was based on a small watercolor study he made in Panama in 2009. Nelson painted and completed his larger version on April 23, 2011 on the corner of Marion St. and South Blvd. in Oak Park. Oak Park has many historic figures within it's landscape including Frank Lloyd Wright's first home and surrounding structures as well as the home of Ernest Hemingway.
